Enjoy an evening with the Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra at the Orangery Schoenbrunn
Since the establishment of the Schoenbrunn Palace Concerts, the daily performances of the Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra play an essential role in Vienna's cultural and musical life.
At the Orangery Schoenbrunn, a place rich in tradition, the Schoenbrunn Palace Orchestra and the Schoenbrunn Chamber Ensemble perform the most beautiful tunes of the classic composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Strauss.
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johann Strauss
In the first part, you will listen to some of the most marvellous overtures, arias and duets from the operas of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. "Le Nozze di Figaro", "Die Zauberflöte" and "Don Giovanni" to name a few. The most popular operetta arias, waltzes and polkas of the "Walzerkoenig" Johann Strauss - from "Die Fledermaus" and "Der Zigeunerbaron" to "Donauwalzer" and the famous "Radetzkymarsch" - comprise the second part. The orchestra is accompanied by two opera singers, a soprano and a baritone, and two ballet-dancers in authentic costumes.
The Orangery Schönbrunn in Vienna
The Orangery Schönbrunn offers the most suitable ambience for the Palace Concerts. For as long as the time of the Habsburgs the Orangery was a place of musical and artistically festivities. During one of these events, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri competed in a musical contest at court. A contest still considered unique in music history.
