Debbie Turner (Larson) was born on 5 September 1956 and raised in Arcadia in Southern California. She worked as a television actress since the age of 6 months. Before she was cast as Marta von Trapp, she appeared in numerous commercials including over 30 for Mattel toys. Shortly after The Sound of Music, Debbie left the film industry. 

Since 1989, Debbie has a floral design business. She also designs one of a kind collectable Santa Clauses and is now perfecting her skills as a restoration artist for European antique furniture. Debbie lives in Chanhassen, Minnesota where she is married with four daughters.
