Enjoy a very special evening with one of the most professional folk-dancing groups of Hungary
Founded in 1957, the Danube Folk Ensemble is one of the most popular professional folk-dancing groups of Hungary. The ensemble consists of 24 dancers and 5 musicians, both excellent in their profession. They aim to perform genuine dynamic, stylish dances, and to create innovative dance-theatre pieces based on those principles.
The ensemble's repertoire includes some true gems of the hungarian folk-dance tradition, while the folk music is faithfully interpreted by its musicians; varied and broad it provides for numerous unique and full performances. The ensemble gives over a hundred performances yearly, including their weekly appearance at the Duna Palota! Besides presenting their own repertoire, they participated in various theatre productions.
The Danube Folk Ensemble is consistently included in the events of the Ministry of the Interior and at celebrations of National Holidays. These performances take place at the Parliament building or the Buda Castle, and are usually shown live on national television. In the last 20 years the ensemble performed in England, Cuba, Poland, Australia, France, at the Sevilla Expo, in Finland, Romania, Austria, Switzerland and Italy.
